Frequently asked questions.
How RegFinder searches, where listings come from and what happens when you find the right registration.
What does RegFinder do?
RegFinder turns a word or name into suitable UK registration formats, searches current listings and ranks the closest matches in one clear results screen.
Where do the registrations come from?
Results can come from the DVLA, eBay sellers and verified independent registration traders. Every result identifies its source.
Do I buy the registration from RegFinder?
No. RegFinder links you directly to the seller’s own page, where you can confirm availability, price, purchase terms and complete the transaction.
Are prices and availability guaranteed?
Listings can change at any time. Always confirm the current price and availability on the seller’s page before making a purchase.
Are the plate graphics legal display examples?
The graphics are illustrative search aids. Any registration fitted to a vehicle must be displayed in accordance with current UK legal number plate rules.
How does the valuation work?
The valuation uses comparable registrations, format, age and current market information to provide an indicative range. It is an estimate, not a guaranteed selling price.
Can registration traders advertise through RegFinder?
Yes. Verified independent traders can use a trader account to manage their details and advertise registrations to RegFinder users.
Is RegFinder affiliated with any of the sellers?
No. RegFinder is not affiliated with the DVLA, eBay or any trader.
